Run your first event.

1. Plan the event online

1. Open Planner.
2. Create an event and add its title, time, room and assigned operator.
3. Choose the spoken input language and add the languages listeners need.
4. Review Hours & recording, including replay and transcript retention.
5. Save the event.

Platform does not have Test audio or Go live. Those controls appear only in an installed operator app.

2. Prepare in Koine Booth

1. Install Koine Booth on the Mac or Windows computer in the room.
2. Sign in and open My events.
3. Select the event you planned and choose Prepare.
4. Confirm the event details and languages.
5. Open Audio or choose Test sound from Overview.

3. Connect and test the sound

A direct feed from the room mixer or audio interface normally works better than the laptop microphone.

1. Allow microphone access when the computer asks.
2. Choose the actual mixer, interface or microphone by name.
3. Speak at normal event volume and confirm that the input meter moves.
4. Run the audio check and resolve any warning before continuing.

4. Test with a real listener phone

1. Open Invite listeners or the QR button.
2. Scan the QR using a phone on the venue's real network.
3. Choose a listening language.
4. Confirm captions arrive and tap Start listening if the browser requires it.

When the event belongs to a room, Koine can use the room's permanent QR. The same printed code then opens whichever event is live there.

5. Preview the screen output

If the room needs projected captions, open Add tools → Screen setup. Choose a second screen, floating overlay or screen link and preview it before the audience arrives. See Screens and presentations.

6. Go live

1. Confirm the input meter, languages, listener test and recording policy.
2. Choose Go live.
3. Watch the source and language health while people are speaking.
4. Use Pause for breaks and Resume when speech begins again.
5. Choose End event only when the event is finished.

Ending disconnects listeners and retires the event code. Koine asks for confirmation because restarting may require a new event and code.

7. After the event

If recording was enabled, allow about 90 seconds for final processing. An owner or administrator can then open Platform → Recordings to play tracks, correct transcripts and export TXT or SRT.
