Scripture workflow

Recognize, review and publish Scripture.

BibleSense helps the booth find spoken Bible passages, but the operator remains in control of what listeners and screens see.

Optional church workflow · Updated 28 August 2026

How BibleSense works

RecognizeKoine matches a spoken reference or quotation to a book, chapter and verses.
ReviewThe booth checks the reference, Bible version and passage text.
PublishOnly an approved passage appears on listener phones or the configured room output.

BibleSense retrieves available published Bible text. It does not machine-translate or automatically publish Scripture.

Prepare before the event

  1. In Koine Booth, open Prepare → Add tools → Bible verses.
  2. Optionally add passages you know will be used.
  3. Confirm the event's spoken input language.
  4. Review the configured Bible source for that language.
  5. If verses should appear in the room, enable Bible output in Screen setup and preview it.

Available editions and languages depend on the event's configured Bible sources. Do not promise that every Bible edition is available.

Approve a recognized passage

  1. While live, open Bible verses.
  2. Review the detected reference and verse text.
  3. Select the suggestion and confirm the reference, source and passage.
  4. Choose Approve & show.
  5. Choose Remove when the passage should leave the screen.

Approval affects the Bible output separately from rolling translation captions. BibleSense recognition can be paused without removing manual verse controls.

Find a passage manually

If Koine does not detect a reference, enter it in the Bible tool and choose Find verse. Review the resolved reference, Bible version and text before choosing Approve & show.

What listeners receive

The approved passage appears as a Bible card in the live feed. Each listener sees an available published Bible translation for their listening language. They can expand the card and open the reference in YouVersion, Bible Gateway or Logos.

Listeners can open Gear → Bible to show or hide Bible cards and transcript lines.

What the room receives

The approved passage can appear on the Bible overlay or the screen layout configured in Booth. Clearing the passage does not stop live captions. See Screens and presentations for supported output methods in Booth 0.1.2.

If a passage does not appear

  • Confirm BibleSense is enabled for the event.
  • Confirm the input language and Bible source.
  • Check the suggestion queue; nothing appears until the booth approves it.
  • Use manual Find verse for an undetected reference.
  • Confirm the listener has Bible cards enabled.
  • For room output, confirm Bible output is enabled and previewed.
