Troubleshoot Koine.
Start with the symptom. Most live problems come from the selected input, a paused booth, phone audio permission or an event link that is waiting between events.
Public Booth 0.1.2 · Updated 28 August 2026Booth cannot see the microphone or interface
- Allow microphone access in macOS or Windows privacy settings.
- Return to Audio and choose Allow mic and refresh inputs.
- Reconnect the USB interface and select it explicitly instead of System default.
- Close another application if it has taken exclusive control of the input.
The input meter does not move
- Confirm the correct device and source profile.
- Check mixer routing, gain, mute and USB return channels.
- Test with normal speech, not background room noise.
- If using a virtual input, confirm the other application is routed into it.
The event is live, but listeners hear silence
- In Booth, check that the source meter is moving.
- Resume the event if it is paused.
- Respond to capture suspended, device disconnected or off-the-air warnings.
- If Booth refreshed while live, choose Resume audio.
- On the phone, tap Start listening and open Gear → Audio to enable Sound.
- Check phone volume and earbuds.
No captions appear
- Confirm the event is live and speech is reaching Booth.
- Confirm the listener selected a language.
- If the listener page says Planned, Waiting or Microphone paused, the booth has not started audio or has paused it.
- Open the listener status dot to check Phone network, Booth and Live captions.
A language is missing
On the listener phone, open the language pill and choose Request language. The request remains pending until the booth approves it. In Booth, confirm the language exists in the live language bar and review provider warnings if it fails.
The QR code says nothing is live
A permanent room or organization QR can be between events. Wait for the booth to go live or enter the current event code. For a one-event QR, confirm that Booth is running the same event and that the event has not ended.
Never share a code containing localhost, a .local hostname or a private test address. Test the exact link on a real phone.
The listener feed stopped
- Tap the status dot and identify which connection is offline.
- Choose Try again or Gear → Refresh.
- Switch between venue Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Open the link in Safari or Chrome instead of Facebook or Instagram's built-in browser.
Translated audio echoes in the room
Use earbuds and keep the phone speaker off. Move listener phones away from the booth microphone or room-audio input.
The projector, overlay or browser source is missing
- Confirm the operating system detects the projector as a separate display.
- Reopen Screen setup after connecting the display.
- Confirm the event is live and screen settings were saved.
- Preview the exact screen link.
- Keep browser sources at 1920×1080 and above the program source.
- If a floating overlay is hidden by exclusive fullscreen, use windowed presentation mode or direct second-screen output.
A recording does not appear
- Confirm organization recording consent was enabled.
- Confirm the event policy was not Live only.
- End the event normally and wait about 90 seconds.
- Open Recordings in Platform as an owner or administrator.
Sign-in or access problems
- Use the same identity and invited email each time.
- Open a team invitation before signing in if you have not joined the organization yet.
- Use Forgot password for an email/password account.
- Ask an administrator to confirm your role, event scope or room assignment.
- SSO appears only when the organization has configured it.
